Student Spotlight- Meet The Nemeza band

This month's Student Spotlight features Nemeza band, a band made up of Ljupcho Santov high school students. The members of Nemeza band are Milana Pantova, a guitarist (1st year); Tatjana Arsova, a guitarist (2nd year); Antonia Andonova, bass guitarist and vocals (1st year) and Irina Kitanoski, drummer (1st year). Nemeza was chosen because of the fresh perspective they bring to the local Macedonian music scene.

Milana, Tatjana, Antonia, and Irina were all close friends before they decided to start a band together. They began by casually jamming in their free time, bonding over their shared love for music, especially the rock genre. As they practiced more, their skills quickly improved, and with the guidance of their guitar and drums teachers, they gained the confidence to start a band. Soon, they were playing small gigs and building their presence as a group. The main motivation behind forming the band was their love for rock music, as well as their desire to express themselves and create something meaningful together.

Nemeza Band plays covers of popular rock songs, often featuring powerful distorted guitars and loud drums that capture the spirit of the genre. Through these performances, they bring their own style and emotion to popular tracks, making each song feel unique. They stated that their best and favorite performance was at Gratche Trail back in October, where they really connected with the audience. The band received a lot of support and love from the crowd, which made the experience even more unforgettable and motivating for them.

Their favorite song to play together as a band is Creep by Radiohead, as it allows them to express both strong emotions and musical intensity. In the future, the band hopes to make their own music, which resonates with a wider audience. Therefore, they're currently working on being more cohesive with each other and mastering their instruments along with sounding better as a group.

Nemeza band hopes that their listeners have fun and rock out to their shows.They hope that everyone who supports them enjoys their performances and ultimately leaves feeling happy.

Overall the band thinks that music is crucial for young people today. It gives us the ability to express our feelings and emotions freely. Music also allows us to broaden our creativity and skills.To Nemeza, music is very important and they believe that with their music they can make a difference in the local scene by bringing communities together.
