What is the Met Gala?

The Met Gala, previously known as the Costume Institute Benefit is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It happens every year on the Monday in May. People think it's the most glamorous and important fashion event in the world. It brings together stars, young designers and fashion industry people.

This year's Met Gala took place on Monday, May 4th. The theme was "Costume Art" and the dress code was "Fashion is Art”.

Celebrities really impressed everyone with their extravagant outfits. They all tried to interpret the theme in their way. Social media was filled with reactions, memes and debates about who was dressed and who wasn't.
