On the 28th of Feburary, a karate charity event took place at the “Kočanski Angeli” gymnasium. Young karate athletes from North Macedonia and Serbia participated in the event, which was organized to raise funds for victims of the fire at a local club in Kočani on March 16, 2025, and to support the “16 March” association, in memory of those who lost their lives.

The event was initiated by Karate Club Partizan and a victim from the fire who trains karate. A total
of 370 competitors from 37 clubs across different cities took part in the competition, representing both North Macedonia and Serbia.
All donations collected during the event will be given to victims of the fire and to the “16 March” association, honoring those who passed away. The gymnasium’s name, “Kočanski Angeli,” also reflects this purpose, as it was named in tribute to the victims to keep their memory alive.

Organizers emphasized that beyond competition, the event represents unity and humanity. They encourage high school students to try karate, highlighting that it is never too late to start and that the sport builds discipline, respect, and self-control. While strong results and victories are primary goals for from the Kočani teams, the most important outcome remains cultivating and fostering solidarity and compassion within Macedonia.
